      Downloading the Keyboarding Data Folders

Downloaded Keyboarding data folders are zipped (compressed), so you will need to unzip them to use what is inside. Your operating system comes with the ability to compress & decompress files and folders. Your folders will download as zipped (compressed) folders.  Click on this link to learn how to zip and unzip folders.

Data files for the lessons in Keyboarding 2 are in these folders. Follow the lessons in the weekly checklists to know when to use a data file.  The lessons in the ebook will tell you when you need a data file. You only need to download the folder you are working on for that week. As the semester progresses, you will download other folders as you need them.

All downloads will go into the Downloads folder on your computer. NOTE: Mac computers automatically unzip folders usually to the desktop when you download.

Save all files into the appropriate subject folders, such as Lesson 32 files save into Word Module 4 data files folder.

  1. Click on the link for the folder you wish to download.
  2. The downloaded folder saves into the Downloads folder on your computer (or to the desktop on Mac’s).
  3. Right-click the zipped folder.
  4. A pop-up menu will appear. Slide over the pop-up menu and click on 'Extract All' or "Extract Here".
  5. Label the unzipped folder BEFORE you begin the lesson.

If you have questions, post them on the blog.

Go back to the previous page to make sure you read the information for 'Why do I need folders?'.
